Last week I posted a video (Video is below) discussing how multiple female rappers are currently out, and releasing music. We haven’t had so many female rappers out at the same time since the 90s. In the video I forgot a lot of names of female rappers in the game right now. So, first I’d like to redefine the list of female rappers with current music in rotation.
First we have the pioneer of sexy female rap Lil Kim who released a new album called “9.” Then we have Cardi B, Kash doll, Megan The Stallion, Rapsody, City Girls, Lizzo, Light skin keisha, Young MA, and Saweetie! I think I got them all listed if not Im sorry. I think it’s amazing to see so many women sharing the spot light! There is literally no cat-fighting and not even the media seem to be trying to pit them against each other.
However, the point of me recording the video was to pose the question as to why people are still bothered by women being sexually explicit within rap lyrics? You’d think it wouldn’t be a big deal anymore. But, the fact is folks still cringe at the thought of women being provocative, nasty, or down right vulgar.
Should women not display and discuss their sexual desires, fetishes, and behaviors involving the bedroom?
